BTL FJSL Invitational Acceptives

Between The Lines is excited to head back to Welland, ON on August 26th & 27th! BTL has teamed up with the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League in the annual BTL FJSL Invitational. The event highlights the top athletes within the FJSL. Below are the players that have accepted their invite to the BTL FJSL Invitational this week!


Bo Hodgkins

LHP, 1B / Jordan, ON / 2026 / Uncommitted

West Niagara Secondary School’s Bo Hodgkins has accepted his invitation to the BTL FJSL Invitational. The 5’7, 145 lb left-handed pitcher and outfielder is a standout player for Bullettproof Baseball. Bo Hodgkins is not only a talented athlete but also an academic standout, boasting a perfect 4.0 GPA.

Zach Yakich, Showcase Director for Between The Lines, expressed his excitement about Hodgkins’ invitation acceptance, stating, “We are thrilled to have Bo participate in our showcase event. He is a well-rounded player who brings both pitching and hitting skills to the field.”

John Azzoli, Director of FJSL, echoed Yakich’s sentiments, stating, “Bo is a great athlete who has shown tremendous promise in his high school career so far. We are excited to see him play against some of the best players in the region.”

Coach Porco of Bullettproof Baseball had high praise for Hodgkins, saying, “a quiet leader, Bo speaks volumes with his focus and dedication to improve. An all-around solid athlete, he is outstanding in CF with tremendous range and throwing ability. Pitching mechanics are solid with good velocity and movement on pitches.”

Hodgkins’ versatility is a key asset to his team, as he can play both on the mound and at first base. His commitment to improving his skills and his academic achievements make him an outstanding prospect for college baseball recruiters.

Ryan Stubbs

RHP, 1B / Caledonia, ON / 2025 / Uncommitted

Ryan Stubbs, a 6’3, 185lb right-handed pitcher and first baseman, has made headlines by accepting his invitation to the BTL FJSL Invitational. Stubbs is a student at McKinnon Park Secondary School and currently plays for Bullettproof Baseball. He has a GPA of 3.7 and is known for his exceptional skill and passion for the game.

Jackson McGiffin

Alberni District Secondary School’s Jackson McGiffin has recently been invited to participate in the BTL FJSL Invitational, and has gladly accepted the opportunity to showcase his skills on the field. The 5’9 outfielder and first baseman from Parksville Royals is known for his impressive abilities on the diamond, and his academic achievements off the field.

Lucas Martin, a talented 6 foot, 200 lbs high school athlete, has recently accepted his invite to the BTL FJSL Invitational. Martin attends AN Myer High School and is a member of the Bullettproof Baseball team, where he plays catcher.

Gabriel Benincasa

Lakeshore Catholic High School’s Gabriel Benicasa has been invited to participate in the highly anticipated BTL FJSL Invitational. The 2026 graduate stands tall at 6 feet and weighs 200 pounds, making him an impressive presence on the field. Benicasa plays 2B and 1B for Bullettproof Baseball and has shown remarkable talent in these positions.

Benicasa is also a dedicated student with a 3.6 GPA, proving that he is not just a talented athlete but a well-rounded individual. Marshall Petersen

Marshall Petersen, a 5’8″ and 140-pound student at AN Meyer High School, is a talented baseball player who is making waves in the sport. He is a part of the Bullettproof Baseball team, where he plays left field and second base. With a combination of his skills and passion, Petersen was a easy choice for the BTL FJSL Invitational.

According to Zach Yakich, Director of Showcase for Between The Lines, Petersen is a natural talent with a strong work ethic. “Marshall is a young player who has a great foundation of skills,” Yakich says. “He’s very versitaly on the field by being able to play Infield and Outfield. But what sets him apart is his attitude. He’s always willing to learn, always looking to improve, and always giving it his all.”

Petersen’s love for the game is evident in the way he plays. He is always striving to do better, and he never backs down from a challenge. John Azzoli, Director of FJSL, says, “Marshall is a tenacious player who never gives up. He’s always willing to go the extra mile to make a play, and he’s got the heart and determination that every coach wants in a player.”

Playing for Bullettproof Baseball has helped Petersen hone his skills and develop his game. The team is known for its commitment to excellence, and Petersen has been a vital part of their success.

In 2026, Petersen will graduate from AN Meyer High School, and he hopes to continue his baseball career in college. With his talent and passion for the sport, there is no doubt that he will continue to improve over his High School Career.
